Life without Google
Monday, February 2, 2009, 03:43 PM - Productivity
Yesterday I was trying to help a friend’s son with his project by pulling up some graphical images of our founding fathers using my favorite search engine Google .

Much to my surprise, every page I pulled up had an error message that indicated that Google thought that website contained mal-ware AND it wouldn't let me click through to the website, even if I wanted to override its objections.

Lifehacker covered this story as well and indicated that human error created this problem for many Google users.

My only solution was to move to another search engine (I actually had to think hard for what those other engines names were as googling search engines didn't help) and for a couple of hours I had to contemplate life without Google.

Bottom line? The internet just isn't the Internet without a Google search engine.

Please Google, don't screws up like this again.

Windows 7
Monday, February 2, 2009, 01:45 PM - Software
In preperation for a keynote speech I am giving later this month, I recently installed one of our Acer Aspire One's with a 500 gigabyte drive and as XP was balking at the harddrive size, I decided to install the Windows 7 Beta.

My first impressions are that they made it faster, and easier to operate, which is a 180 degree uturn from running Vista.

The Gizmodo guys have extensive coverage of Windows 7 including some great short cut keys.

Friday, January 16, 2009, 06:29 AM - Cool!
Whether its books, songs, DVDs, or Pez dispensers, we all have items we like to collect.

Question is - how do you track your collection?

A new piece of software,
iTrackMine claims to manage your collecton for you.

I will try it and post a review in the near future, but in the meantime - shout out and let our readers know how you track your collections.
