We just discovered a cool new website - CosttoDrive.com which allows you to price how much it costs to drive your car on a road trip.

My oldest son and I are planning his birthday road trip and I was a bit amazed to discover that it will cost us $142 each way for our Toyota Landcruiser vs $34 for a Toyota Prius Hybrid .



Doing a quick calculation on the difference in driving the two cars, assuming 20,000 miles of driving a year, our family could afford to pay $13,000 for a Prius today assuming we took most of those miles from our Landcruiser (which we need to get to our cabin).

So how much does your car cost you to drive?

The Economist obituary this week focuses on Martin Tytell a man who knew his technology, the typewriter, better than any other.

Although a long distance cousin to the current personal computer, we wouldn't be where we are today without people like Mr. Tytell and their passion for their technology.

One of my favorite tech blogs, Engadget reports that Sony is releasing a new laptop the Sony TT. With similar specifications as the Sony TZ, hopefully they have addressed the issues that led to the massive recall .

As you know from previous posts here, I am a big believer in this laptop and prefer the SSD+HD combo, but the model looks to have dual SSDS (totaling 256 gigs), AND more importantly, the ability to read and write blu-ray media, my ideal choice for backups.


Dynamism looks set to take orders.
